How does DFS Make a Difference?

Our Economic Assistance Division focuses on connecting people with benefits programs, including groceries, home heating and medical care. As the Wyoming economy reacts to the economic downturn, DFS' Economic Assistance leadership is responding by looking at ways to better manage the workload. As more people seek help, DFS sees an increase in caseloads. Finding ways to work smarter to help people is making a difference.

In our Early Childhood Division, the team works hard to support the work of child care and substitute care providers. A big part of that work is training. Leaders in this division are developing online training for child care providers, all of whom are required to maintain training credentials. Soon, providers will be able to get training online in blood born pathogens, fire and health safety and identifying and reporting abuse and neglect. That's how the Early Childhood Division is making a difference.
